RAILROAD HERALDS:
This font is a Collection of railroad heralds (logos).
BURLINGTON:
Why are there so few heralds in this collection? I have included one of my work fonts to show you what goes into each of these characters. (See the herald story for more on why)
WORKTRAIN:
Just a little bonus I tossed in to make the initial heralds package more attractive. These are some more toys to augment my other rail fonts. I am sure that there are a few speeder owners out there who will this font.
You will need a high resolution printer to truly appreciate thses fonts. The screen image isn't the best, but load up the PostScript font and print out a copy of "RR Heralds Legend" to see all the living detail in full heart stopping color (well, I get carried away, but you get the idea).
HOW TO INSTALL THE TRAIN FONT ONTO YOUR SYSTEM:
Just drag the files: "RRHer", "RRHeralds.bmap", "Bulington.bmap", "Burli", "WorkTrain.bmap", and "WorkTra" onto your system folder (or put them in font folder within the system folder) and restart any applications that are currently running. System 6 users have to use the font/DA mover, it is fairly straight forward and you should have documentation.
If you have troubles installing these fonts or they don't seem to print out correctly, please let me know as soon as possible. I can either give you more specific instillation information or go and fix the bug. (e-mail is great for this, but snail mail works fine too)
RELEASE INFO:
Railroad Heralds contains all but one of the heralds I have drawn to date. I want to eventually make heralds for most of the major railroads (past and present). I do not plan on making any further releases of this font to the public. The additional heralds will only be available to registered users. Let me know what heralds you would like to see when you register for this font, and I will try my best to include them (someone has already put in a strong vote for Santa Fe, and that should be done soon). One last thing, I don't have access to good references for all of the railroads, so, it would be helpful if you included a decent photocopy of the heralds you would like to see (2" or 3" is an ideal size). I used old time tables and old copies of the Official Railway Guide for references so far.
NOW FOR THE "ASKING FOR MONEY" BIT, AKA, THIS IS SHAREWARE:
You are free to use (play with, throw at the cat, etc.) these fonts for one week after receiving it. If you like it and decide to keep it, you should send a $10 "shareware" fee to myself. (see accompanying "the herald story" for why) at the address below. Please include a brief note describing where you got this font, what you like about it, and what you would like to see added to it.
If you just have to have the full collection of my train fonts (see "the whole story"), send a FORMATTED 3.5" HD disk (I don't know if they will fit on an 800k disk any more) and a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE to the address below. (I hate to format disks and you will be sure to get the right machine, Mac or IBM, this way)
I do not want to send any of my customers into bankruptcy, if you are honestly poor, (i.e., you ain't gonna support the American way and my education) please send a post card (the weirder the better) describing where you got this font, what you like about it and what you would like to see added to it.
THE FINE PRINT:
-Each font or icon package is an individual product. Thus, if you keep Passenger Font and Freight Font, you should pay $20, not $10.
(note that RRHerald, Burlington and WorkTrain are a single package)
-You may NOT use these fonts- Railroad Herald Font, Burlington Font or Work Train Font- in any publication or any product unless you register your copy of Passenger Font by sending $10 FOR EACH FONT YOU USE. Be sure to specify which fonts you are registering for. It is not fair for you to make money off of my hard work without paying the Shareware fees.

-You may distribute this font for free, however, you may not sell this font or include it in any package for sale without the written permission of myself, Benn Coifman. I am very agreeable to CD ROM's and shareware packages for sale, however, I do want to retain some degree of control over my work. So, please contact me first.
